Julious owes much of its establishing trading history to former founder, Margaret Ann Julious from whom the company derives its name; MA Julious & Co Ltd.

Ann Julious (pictured right) founded the concern as a sole trader status in 1978 and developed the organisation into one of the most respected bailiff firms in the UK.

We were at the front line during the most turbulent period seen in modern times in UK debt recovery when the Poll Tax divided a nation.
 
Collecting Poll Tax debts was fraught with difficulties but Julious became one of the UK's preferred bailiff firms for dealing with such contentious debt and during the early 90s the company could count 60,000 such warrants on its books at any one time and later served thousands of instructions for the UK Government Inland Revenue (now known as HM Revenue Customs). 
 
Many of the bailiffs who cut their teeth during such turbulent times in the early 90s Poll Tax and recession period are still with Julious today. 
 
In recognition of Julious' diligent approach and in light of the professional respect from her peers, Margaret Ann Julious was elevated to the position of President of the Certificated Bailiffs Association (now known as the Enforcement Services Association) of England and Wales for the period 1992-93 , becoming the first female President in the Association's history.  
 
In May 1999 Ann was awarded a Fellowship of the Association in recognition of her work and contribution of services to the industry. 
 
The management teamThe year of 2006 marked a turning point in the company's development when Julious was subject to a management buy out by a team of three existing Julious managers and two Directors from sister auction company, John Pye & Sons, one of the UK's largest independent commercial auction houses and also a neighbour on the same operating site. 
 
Julious now manages 9,500 instructions a year and front line debt recovery is supported by one of the largest support infrastructures in the UK with twice weekly auctions providing solid liquidity on levied stock and assets, all under one roof. Our firm has a high staff retention rate which makes for well grounded Bailiffs and Enforcement Officers. Ann Julious has remained at MA Julious & Co. as a consultant.
